Scope

This policy describes Setlark version 1.0.0, a tool for original music-making ideas, setlist arrangement and rehearsal notes. It covers the Android app and this informational website. The app contains its own idea library; your use of those prompts does not require sending a response to a publisher.

The work you create

Setlark keeps your working set, cue titles, planned durations, intended energy labels, transitions, playing notes, saved editions, bookmarks and phase annotations on your device. Rehearsal passes can also hold cue observations and measured elapsed time. You choose what to write; avoid placing information in a note that you do not want stored on that device.

Notes and observations

Phase notes remain attached to the relevant making phase. Rehearsal observations remain attached to the cue in the rehearsal snapshot. These records are user-authored. The app does not infer your emotions, assess your performance or create a recording of what you play.

Local storage

The Android build stores structured work in app-private SharedPreferences. Artwork, prompts and the interface are bundled in the app. There is no user account or publisher-operated cloud copy of your local work. A storage failure is reported in the interface; an unreadable stored record is preserved rather than silently overwritten.

Network behavior

The Android manifest requests no Internet permission. The app serves bundled content through a local WebView origin and blocks outside page requests. Its core functions work without connectivity. If you open this website on a public host, that host and your browser may handle ordinary connection information independently of the Android app.

Device permissions

This release does not request microphone, camera, location, contacts or broad file-storage access. It uses Android’s document picker when you choose to export a setlist. That action grants access to the destination you select, rather than permission to scan your files.

Accounts and identity

Setlark does not ask you to create an account, supply a name, sign in or provide an email address for its core features. The app does not create a cross-device identity. Titles and notes you type may contain personal information if you choose to include it.

Analytics and diagnostics

This build includes no advertising, analytics or publisher crash-reporting SDK. It does not transmit a usage history or rehearsal observations to a server. Android, your app store, keyboard or device vendor may have their own diagnostics and settings outside Setlark’s control.

Advertising

There are no advertisements or advertising identifiers used by this release. The app does not build an advertising profile from saved sets, selected ideas or rehearsal activity. This website contains no advertising scripts.

Payments

Version 1.0.0 contains no purchase flow, billing SDK or subscription system. Setlark does not receive or store payment-card information. Any future release that adds a payment-related feature would need corresponding implementation and policy changes.

Exporting and sharing

Export setlist creates a plain-text representation of your working sequence only after you choose that action and a file destination. It can include cue titles, planned times, energy labels, transitions and playing notes. Review those fields before sharing the file. Your chosen document provider may store or synchronize the exported file under its own settings.

How long work remains

Local work remains until you delete the relevant saved edition or rehearsal pass, erase Setlark work in Preferences, clear Android app data or uninstall the app. An open draft is separate from saved editions. Opening an edition creates a working copy; it does not silently rewrite the saved snapshot.

Deleting your work

Saved editions and completed rehearsal passes have individual delete actions with confirmation. Preferences offers Erase Setlark work on this device and asks for an explicit confirmation. This clears drafts, editions, notes, journal entries, bookmarks and preferences from this installation. Files you already exported remain in their chosen locations and must be managed there.

Backup and transfer

Automatic Android application backup is disabled in this release. Setlark has no cloud synchronization or built-in import service. Exported text is a human-readable setlist, not a complete restorable backup of all app state. Keep that distinction in mind before clearing data or changing devices.

Security and access

App-private storage uses the protection provided by Android and your device configuration. Setlark does not add a separate app password or claim that its notes are independently encrypted. Anyone with access permitted by your device may be able to view your work. Code obfuscation protects implementation readability; it is not encryption of user records.

Audience and choices

Setlark is a general creative tool for people who want to develop musical ideas and arrange a sequence. It has no public profiles, messaging or social feed. It does not knowingly request personal details about children. Device supervision and the content of freely entered notes remain choices for the person using the device.

Changes to this policy

This policy is dated 23 September 2026 and describes the features of the stated version. A future feature that changes storage, network behavior, permissions or data use should be reflected in an updated policy. The complete policy remains readable without animation or website scripts.
